CII’s Project Fatherhood program held its 7th Annual Fatherhood Solution Conference with a goal of improving the health, well-being, and stability of Los Angeles children. The daylong event brought together organizations, providers and community members—including fathers—to discuss how fatherhood positively affects the lives of children. It is the only conference in LA County specifically focused on building community, professional and personal capacity to support fathers as they stabilize their families and strengthen their relationships with their children. The event was hosted by CII and this year, co-sponsored by First5 LA.
Presenters covered clinical and topical issues, including Early Head Start and Head Start, Historical Trauma and its Impact on Fatherhood, Intimate Partner Violence, Stress Management, and Culture Specific Models of Service Delivery and Practice. Our Father Track presented workshops that highlighted Early Childhood Literacy, Mentor/Modeling and Co-Parenting.
