Expanding Project Fatherhood
Dr. Swinger’s vision is to replicate Project Fatherhood SM in churches, schools and community-based organizations throughout Los Angeles County and beyond.
“Imagine,” he says, “if the program were like McDonald’s – a facility on every corner for fathers to avail themselves of, should the need arise.” That is, a network of resources embedded in the community to support fathers, children and families rather than relying solely on government systems and the police.
To that end, CII has launched the Project Fatherhood Community Grants Program to fund small, community, and faith-based organizations to replicate Project Fatherhood SM as a part of the federal government’s Responsible Fatherhood Initiative funded by the ACF, Office of Family Assistance (OFA).
